Where to Start, Where to Start

It has been a while since I blogged, with birthday parties to plan and a school year to plan, I haven't had a lot of extra time. So here is a little recap!

We kicked off our summer with birthdays- mine and our oldest daughter's in May. She had a Princess party, of course and me (well, it isn't like I have a theme each year but this year was craving some crafting time so) a "rustic-vintage-theme."

After our birthdays came my husbands (with Mother's day and Father's day mixed in, too). His birthday is the day after 4th of July, which this year we happened to take a little road trip to my parents to play on the river, grill and head back home with very exhausted little children. (love that!)

Then came August! Both of our boys were born in August. One at the beginning of the month and the other at the end. I reeeeaallly wanted to do up their birthday's this year since last year I had some major morning sickness and wasn't able to give them a party every boy dreams of. Don't get me wrong, we celebrated but it was very low key.

Our little Henry wanted a Pirate themed party and Joshua wanted Fireman....until his momma showed him a blog post of a ice cream cone party complete with donuts in the am and games and ice cream decorating- you name it, this party had it, and we copied it all! With 5 little ones 6 years and under, it was nice not to have to think! ha!

Felt and fabric ice cream cone decoration- made a few extras for the kids to use as toy food
In the mist of planning the last party (our other two cuties have winter birthdays) we got our school year planned, papers run off for the WHOLE year- that feels good, had one last day at the river the day before labor day for some fun in the sun in chilly river water. It doesn't matter how hot it is, that river always feels cold going in. We had a brisket and baked bean BBQ along with baked potatoes, grilled corn and                chili con caso. Then back home again with very tired kids to enjoy our last day off before school start.

More to come later! Have a great rest of the week!
